The California State Senate declared week of April 18th as Children's Week.
     The San Diego Children's Coalition in partnership with ChildrensDay will
     promote events honoring Children and Children's Organizations countywide!

     Please come join with us in promoting this exciting new Children's event!

 Under the joint venture of the Kiwanis and Lions Clubs, the Kearny Mesa Kiwanis Club and President's Lions Clubs have joined forces to create a new organization called the San Diego Children's Coalition.

The San Diego Children's Coalition has been the dream of many to create a countywide organization to promote and support Children's charities and organizations that serve the children of San Diego.  

The Coalition's primary objectives are to: 

• Promote and assist Children's Charities and Organizations in San Diego.
• Support events and fund-raising activities that benefit Children. 
• Provide networking opportunities between Children's groups and donors. 
• Create excitement in San Diego to recruit a new army of new volunteers.

Since the launch of the Children's Coalition in July 2009, the organization has accomplished the following:

• Children's Charity Mixers - For the first time in San Diego history, monthly mixers have been held where over 80 children's organizations and donors have come together to network in order to benefit children.
• Children's Masquerade Ball - A Charity event with children's organizations, the community of San Diego, and the NFL Alumni's Association. 
• New Office - The Coalition has received a $10,000 grant to open it's main office.  The office is located at the mouth of Pacific Beach.

• Children's Fair - To be held in the summer of 2010 where children's organizations and charities and the public will get an opportunity to meet each other in a fun setting.  Children's organizations will be able to promote their programs and recruit new volunteers.
• Awards Banquette - An end of the year banquete will be held to honor the outstanding organizations and individuals in San Diego. 
• Children's Charity Mixers - The Coalition will continue to host the mixers once a month throught the year. 
• Monthly Newletter, Website, and Citywide Promotions - Produce a monthly newletter hightlighting upcoming children's events, maintain our wesite with usefully information, and promote children's events throught San Diego. 
• Partnerships - Continue and expain our partnerhips with children's organizations, the Kiwanis & Lions Clubs, and community organizations to support children's events and coordinate volunteer efforts.
