SPORTS FOR EXCEPTIONAL ATHLETES

The purpose of SPORTS for Exceptional Athletes (S4EA) is to create enhanced opportunities for people with and without disabilities to interact and form lasting bonds of friendship through shared sports and recreational activities in their community.
S4EA is unique in that from the beginning we have collaborated together with athletes, their families and friends, coaches, volunteers, and community members to realize the goal of providing athletic and social opportunities that meet the interests of the greater San Diego community. Our athletes, families, volunteers and staff view getting together for athletic and social events as a hugely meaningful part of our lives.
S4EA currently serves over 1,000 athletes with developmental disabilities and over 100 sports partners (siblings, parents, coaches, community members who want to play on inclusive teams). We offer training and competition in 23 sports during 4 seasons on a year-round basis, as well as a number of social/recreational activities during the year.
