The San Diego Children's Coalition was launched in 2009 to assist Children's Charities, Organizations, and Service Clubs.  The objectives of the Children's Coalition are to improve public awareness of the many fun, exiting, and important things that Children's organizations do to benefit children in San Diego County.  The Coalition will reach out to schools, service clubs, and the general public to incourage them to attend or volunteer at one of the many Children's events and fundraisers.

The Children's Coalition was approached by the founding organization Children's Day USA to help launch a Children's Day in San Diego. There's Mother's Day, Father's Day, but there is no official Children's Day as of yet.  A Resolution was passed by the California State Senate to establish Children's Day on the last Saturday in April, that's April 24th this year!  The Coalition is currently seeking a similar resolution from the City of San Diego, the County Board of Supervisors, and various local State and Federal officials to also declare a Children's Day in partnership with the rest of California!

To create awareness and have some fun in the process, the Children's Coalition is launching a Children's Day Celebration from April 17th to May 2nd.   We are reaching out to the many Charities encourage them to participate in the Children's Day Celebration and asking them to let us help in the process of recruiting volunteers for their events.

The Coalition will promote Children's Day and the Children's Day Celebration via this website, emails, the media, and via printed Posters and Event Programs that will be distributed by the thousands all across the County of San Diego.  The Coalition is currently seeking businesses and donors that will would like to place their logo on our flyers in order for the Coalition to cover these costs. These donors will be recorded in history books and honored as the original founders of Children's Day in San Diego!  If you have a business or would like to become a founder, please feel free to contact us.  Spaces on the posters and programs will fill up quickly, so please contact us as soon as possible.

The Children's Day Celebration will create public awareness of the fun activities that go on in the Children's charitable world and encourage schools, service and social clubs, and the public to give of themselves by attending or volunteering at one of the many events.  The phrase "Pick a Day, Choose a Charity, Attend the Event!" will be the theme of the Celebration. 

The future of the Children's Coalition is limitless.  The goals include expanding community outreach by creating a online Children's Charities newspaper via our website by recruiting reporters and photographers to promote and report on children's events throughout the year, to Celebrity Golf Tournaments to raise funds for Children's organizations, and to Awards Galas where outstanding individuals and Children's organizations will be honored for their outstanding service.
